As part of World Breastfeeding Week 2026, Caritas Matha Hospital, in association with Velankanni Matha College of Nursing, successfully conducted a Breastfeeding Awareness Programme on 5th August 2026 at the Gynecology OPD.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Sunu John, HOD & Senior Consultant – Paediatrics, while the theme was unveiled by Dr. Sajan Thomas, Senior Consultant – Neonatology  The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Reji D, Senior Consultant – Gynaecology, who highlighted the vital role of breastfeeding in ensuring the health and well-being of both mother and baby.

The event featured an engaging lineup of activities, including a flash mob, role play, health talk, quiz, and interactive awareness sessions, all designed to educate, inspire, and empower mothers while reinforcing the importance of breastfeeding for a healthier future.
